Storytellers 2

Following the success that was last year’s ‘Storytellers: A celebration of Oral Tradition’, Saxon Penn brings together a full band (plus guests), to curate an evening of traditional folk interpretations of the field recordings collected by John and Alan Lomax throughout the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s: ‘Storytellers 2’.

The collection of pieces that are to be performed on the evening, rich with timeless meaning, will be presented with a deep reverence for their historical significance and an acknowledgment of their roots, that continue to reach out across almost all genres and styles of music as we know it today. The evening is a celebration of the oral tradition of song, and the coming together of people.

All proceeds from the evening will be charitably donated to RYSS (Regional Youth Support Services) and Coast Shelter; both organisations centered around equitable access to education, health services, housing and transport for marginalised and disaffected youth and adults of regional communities in NSW.
